Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unique of pop stars: an artist who could effectively bridge the gap between pop and country music and conquer the world. Swift removed the influences of country in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin, revealing she was one of the most talented singers/songwriters in her time. Swift could make the occasion personal, or use it for her benefit. Swift's early hits, especially their neo song in tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her talents. But her 2008 album Fearless showed a singer-songwriter who was discovering herself and finding a large audience. The album ended up with a lot of legs not only in the U.S. where it racked the record with six platinum singles, on the strength of the Top Ten hits Love Story and You Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success with the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago consolidated her previous popularity and launched her into superstardom. Her popularity only increased through her subsequent three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) -- and found her moving assuredly into a realm of pop music that she had already been a part of. She was on top of the charts until she reverted to her style with her sibling albums Folklore and Evermore in the year 2020.
